Stardust by Neil Gaiman meets Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.
On Kaszmir Euonymus's three-hundreth moon, the heavens were forecasted to weep.
In the land of Shiver, cursed to never see the light of day, Textors, those born with the ability to weave and manipulate the Thread, must capture and eat the heart of a star on the night of their coming-of-age. If they fail to do so, they will slowly return to their true forms from which they, in turn, were woven: mulberry trees. Well, Kaz's birthnight came and went and not a single star fell from the endless sky. To make matters worse, the progress of their destined arboreal form has accelerated quicker than anyone expected. Kaz must swallow the heart of a fallen star before their horrific and painful curse swallows them up in turn.
